INTERNSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS PROJECT - LEGAL INTERNSHIP
FALL 2008

The Reproductive Rights Project is a program of the New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU. The RRP engages in complex and pro-active litigation, public education and advocacy to ensure access to reproductive health care for individuals in New York, particularly those most vulnerable to the anti-choice agenda: low income women, women of color and young people. The RRP broadly defines reproductive rights to include not only defense of abortion rights but also care related to sexual health, equal treatment of pregnant women in employment, accurate and uncensored sex and HIV/AIDS education in the schools, and equal educational opportunity for pregnant and parenting teenagers.

The RRP is seeking law student applicants for fall internships. Interns will participate in litigation, legal analysis, legislative analysis, public education and advocacy regarding a broad range of issues including: abortion, family planning, reproductive health care coverage in public and private insurance, confidentiality in health care, HIV/AIDS and sex education, pregnancy discrimination, defending clinics against anti-choice efforts, contraceptive equity, childcare and reproductive technology.
